Today I released Keepmark 1.27.0. Most of my work was focused on the new Markdown editor (which I’ve mentioned in previous posts). In this release the new editor hasn’t replaced the main note editor yet, but it has already appeared as a description editor in Tasks, and as a smaller component for adding descriptions to documents with inaccessible previews.

Work on the editor is not progressing as quickly as I expected - I have to solve a lot of unexpected problems. But the new editor is starting to appear - at first in less critical functionality - like the newly introduced feature - document description when no available preview.

Work on the new version of Keepmark is in progress, but it’s still not enough to show you the new release. This time I’m mainly focused on creating a new editor for Keepmark. The current one is based on HTML view, which makes it one of the heaviest Keepmark components (not counting e.g. PDF preview). This doesn’t give me much freedom to embed it in different places in the application. I decided not to invest any more time in the old editor and started working on something lighter which will replace the old solution. Below is a small screen, how the work is progressing.

Although it’s been more than 2 months since the last release, I wasn’t lazy during that time and today I can present the release of the next version of Keepmark 1.26.0. In this case the main change is not very noticeable (rewritten documents module engine), but when stabilizing the release I added some smaller “boosts” to the application.

The next release is getting closer and closer. All the time I am mainly trying to stabilize the application after the last major changes in the documents module, and in the meantime adding smaller features. One of them is the introduction of support for PPT and PPTX files, both for viewing and indexing content.
